Camp Helen State Park is a 180-acre park that is bordered by the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Powell offering activities like hiking, beachcombing, swimming, and fishing. Lake Powell is the largest coastal dune lake in the state of Florida where you can go paddleboarding, kayaking, and view wildlife. The dune lake and surrounding land is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including white-tailed deer, dolphins, wild heron, river otters, snakes, egret, osprey, and a variety of fish.
There are also several trails for walking such as the North Trail (1.8 miles) and Oak Canopy Trail (0.5 miles). These trails are well maintained and easy for all levels.
Camp Helen State Park is also on the National Register of Historic Places.
